Skinmed EnerPeels Treatment in Thanet, Kent

SkinMed EnerPeels are a medical/clinical line of chemical peels designed by SkinMed that aim to remodel skin rather than just exfoliate the surface. They use a patented carrier technology that restrains acid activity at the surface of the skin until the acid is absorbed. In other words, the treatment delivers active ingredients deeper into the skin “cleanly,” which purportedly allows improved penetration with less surface irritation. The skinmed protocols are clinically proven to improve acne and rosacea, without compromising the skins barrier.  SkinMed collaborates with medical dermatologists, researchers, and clinics. Their formulations and protocols have been tested in clinical environments.

Skinmed EnerPeels Treatment Guide & FAQS

Traditional chemical peels (like glycolic, TCA, or salicylic) work by immediately reacting at the skin surface, which can cause stinging, visible frosting, peeling and surface irritation.

EnerPeels, however, use a patented carrier solution developed by SkinMed to control how and where the acid acts.

The peel acid is “complexed” in a carrier fluid that keeps it less active while it’s on the epidermis. This prevents immediate surface reaction (less burning, redness, or frosting).

The carrier allows the acid molecules to penetrate more evenly and deeply into the epidermis and upper dermis before they ionize (activate).

Once inside, the skin’s water content and pH cause the acid to dissociate, releasing its activity deeper down. Because more acid reaches the target tissue rather than reacting superficially, you get better remodelling results (collagen stimulation, pigment regulation) with much less irritation.

The EnerPeel formulations also include MSM (Methylsulfonylmethane), which:

  • Helps stabilise the acid in the carrier
  • Reduces inflammation and histamine response
  • Improves healing and tolerance

Most clients describe EnerPeels as mildly tingly or warm, rather than painful.
Because the carrier system slows the acid’s surface activity, discomfort is significantly reduced compared with traditional peels.
During treatment, your practitioner carefully monitors the skin’s response, and any tingling typically subsides within a few minutes. After treatment, your skin may feel slightly tight or dry, but there is little to no visible peeling — making EnerPeels ideal for busy lifestyles.

EnerPeels are considered low-irritation peels, but as with any active treatment, mild side effects are possible.
You may experience:

  • Temporary redness or sensitivity
  • Light flaking or dryness
  • Increased sun sensitivity for several days

Serious reactions are rare when the peel is performed by a qualified professional and aftercare instructions are followed.
Sun protection and gentle skincare are essential post-treatment to maintain results and protect new skin cells.

EnerPeels are suitable for most skin types, including sensitive or rosacea-prone skin, thanks to their controlled-delivery system.
You may be a good candidate if you want to improve:

  • Acne or oily, congested skin
  • Redness, flushing, or rosacea
  • Pigmentation or sun damage
  • Uneven tone and texture
  • Fine lines or early signs of ageing

Your practitioner will assess your skin and medical history to determine the best EnerPeel formulation and treatment plan for your needs.

EnerPeels are not just another chemical peel — they represent a scientific evolution in how skin renewal treatments work.

Traditional chemical peels act immediately at the skin’s surface, which often leads to burning, redness, frosting, and visible peeling as the top layers are shed. While effective, that surface activity can be unpredictable and uncomfortable, especially for sensitive or darker skin types.

EnerPeels, developed by SkinMed, use a patented carrier delivery system that completely changes how the acids behave on the skin.

Most clients see visible improvement after one treatment, but the best results come from a course of peels tailored to your skin goals.

Typically, a treatment plan includes:

  • A course of 3–6 sessions, spaced about 2–4 weeks apart
  • Maintenance treatments every few months to sustain long-term results

Because EnerPeels remodel the skin gradually and safely, results continue to improve over the weeks following each treatment.
