Ultra-pure hyaluronic acid is injected into the area being treated which may include the arms, abdomen, and décolletage. Profhilo stimulates collagen and elastin and attracts water in the deeper layers of the skin.
Profhilo’s unique structure allows it to flow over an extended area to boost hydration and cause ‘remodeling’ of the skin. It does this mainly by reacting with your own skin tissue to instantly boost hydration and over the four weeks following treatment it boosts elastin and collagen production significantly.
Profhilo is an injectable anti-ageing treatment made from hyaluronic acid for skin that’s losing its elasticity and firmness with age. Profhilo helps the skin by stimulating the collagen that is naturally lost over time. It can be used on the face, neck, décolletage, hands, knees or any other part of the body showing signs of ageing. Profhilo results in an immediate improvement in skin tone and hydration as well as firmness and it can reduce the appearance of fine lines.
There is some discomfort involved. Of course, everyone has a different pain threshold. The treatment may feel like a slight pinch of the skin. Some areas can be more sensitive than others, but the treatment is relatively quick. Numbing cream is applied prior to treatment to minimise discomfort.
Although immediately following treatment (which involves 10 injections for each area) you may have small lumps, these will distribute smoothly and evenly within 12-24 hours. There are very few side effects or risks associated with Profhilo for this reason, however there may be a very small bruise at the injection site or some mild swelling.
Profhilo is for anyone who presents signs of skin ageing (dull, sagging skin, volume loss, fine lines and wrinkles, skin laxity and crepe-like texture, etc.) you cannot have Profhilo if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and there may be other contraindications such as allergies, immune system conditions or infection at the injection site. This will be discussed with you at your appointment, and we suggest booking in for a consultation first to determine suitability.
The initial Profhilo Body treatment consists of 2 sessions, 4 weeks apart. Some areas of the body may require a third session after 4 weeks.
To prolong the results, you will require another single session after around 3-6 months.
